A Full Time Professional Training Program

We are excited to announce the expansion of our curriculum, to a full time elite professional training program - the Conservatory Institute at Osipova Ballet Academy. The OBA Conservatory Institute specializes in preparing the next generation of talented & dedicated students ages 10-18+ for a professional career in the art of dance. With the opportunity to train both in the morning & afternoon, students of the OBA Conservatory Institute will be provided with the resources to expand their knowledge & take their training to the next level. Individualized attention, strong emphasis on progressively building technique, & exemplary training by Graduates of the esteemed Vaganova Academy are only some of the many areas that will be covered by the Program of the Conservatory Institute. Due to its unique nature, the Conservatory Institute’s Curriculum will provide coaching in Technique, Repertoire, Partnering, Stretching, Contemporary, Conditioning, Character & Acting. It is our upmost priority to bring the most Premier Vaganova Training to the Bay Area & with the expansion of our program to a Conservatory Institute, Osipova Ballet Academy solidifies its position as the innovative powerhouse of the education of dance. Students ages 10-13 & 14-18+ may apply for the Conservatory Institute with either in person or video auditions.

Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:30am - 1:30pm.

Pricing for 2023-2024 school year will be released upon acceptance to the program.

All prospective students ages 10-18+ complete the application below and pay the audition fee following this link Conservatory Institute Audition Fee. Admission to Conservatory Institute at OBA is by audition only (in-person or video). In-person audition will take place at OBA studios during regular class time on Mondays - Saturdays.

Dress code:

  • Girls should wear a black leotard and pink ballet shoes with pink tights.

  • Boys should wear solid color leotard or fitted t-shirt, black or grey tights, and black or white ballet shoes.

  • Students who identify as neither or both males and female may choose from one of the above.

  • Please no warm-ups, skirts, or baggy clothing.

Video audition guidelines:

OBA accepts WEB LINKS(e.g. YouTube, Vimeo). A single video file, containing all the elements outlined below. Only one side needs to be shown of each combination. The frame of the video should show the full body throughout and not include any dancers other than the applicant. The video must have been filmed on or after February 10th, 2023 and should not exceed 15 minutes in length. Videos of performance or solo variations will not be considered.

Girls ages 16 and up should complete all barre work in ballet shoes and wear pointe shoes for
center. Girls ages 12-15 should wear ballet shoes for all combinations, except for the pointe work
combination, which should be completed on pointe. This combination may be placed at the end of the
video after grand allegro. Girls ages 8-11 should wear ballet shoes for all combinations.

  1. Barre work (maximum of 5 minutes; only one side needed of each combination)
Pliés, battlement tendus, adagio, grand battements.

  2. Center work (maximum 10 minutes):

    Adagio, battlement tendus, pirouette combination (optional )

  3. Allegro combinations:

    one small jump- pas echappes, pas assembles, pas jetés;

    one medium jamp - sissonnes ouverte, sissonne fermee;

    one big jamp - grand jetes, grand pas de chat (optional )

  4. Pointe work (ladies only) - pas echappés, sissonne simple, pirouettes (optional )
